No I hesitate to keep praising Mr "T" ,oops I'm at it again..... as even with my extensive and esoteric vocabulary I fear that I will just run out of superlatives.
I'm still waiting for you to show Mr Richard ...you've had your lathe for quite some while and waiting for a retreat well...what do you think you are one of Napoleon's soldiers on the Eastern front!!!.... more PC than asking if you were of Italian descent ......Waiting ...waiting....No dead horses head in my bed yet.

Can't wait to get home and forget about all this night shift hoopla.

Well I'm going to hunt for a chain saw this weekend...I think.

http://wowjoke.com/gif/white/1332.gif I'm scurrying around gathering things up.... buying a chain saw ,looking for wood ,making flower beds ,fishing,going to the doctor,buying chucks and accessories,buying turning tools, going to the nursery gardens, doing lawn work, going to reg job,selling a pistol, selling some deer feeders, keeping up with the forum,reading woodturning books,,installing new lock set and door hdwe on front door,going to club meeting and then trying to keep Gladys happy..... my plate has been pretty full lately. If I am successful in getting some pecan wood I got my eye on today I am going to rough turn the blanks to take to the retreat..thats another thing I been doing is gathering up all the stuff I have to take to that...anyhow got to go feed the birds...........c..u

HAR! Yep Dick, I do knows the biggins are usually female. After I posted that jive I realized you have your thumb and pinky behind her and 3 in front. But you know what I first thought.... :)

I found a blow down branch at work from what they call Eucaliptus round here. Green and unchecked (no cracks) in it so I globbed onto it.
Dick suggested I use parafine wax to seal the pieces from it when cut.
So I have a bunch of what I call blanks in the shop with dipped ends to hold the moisture inside.
This is my first ever green wood turning. I stayed with it until it was done and well waxed with Johnson's Paste Wax for a finish.
Then branded the base and dated it and applied more wax.
I figured I'd use a shot glass for a size comparison. It's so hard to tell from a picture.
You understand the Jack Daniels in the glass was only to make the engraving show up good for the shot. I mean picture.
And of course, once poured one mustn't ever return fine liquor to the bottle. So what was I to do?
I chose to toast you all for helping me get going down this path of insanity. Twas that or damn you all. :)

Do you have stock in Tormak? Or just using web subliminal suggestion to bait us hold outs into your web? LOL! :7

Well I donno about THAT.
I do still wrinkle my nose then that nasty a$$ed burbon goes down the hatch.
I'm a beer guy actually. :+ The Jack Daniels is for special occasions only. And when this one special Brother drops in.

I needed something to relate the size to. Too often a picture is sooo decieving.
