RE: New cherry bowl
Nice bowl! :) Does that hook nose tool make that entire cut under the rim? Cherry is my favorite wood cause however good it looks now, it only gets better over time.
Jim if you're not getting wood for cherry :) You can get some here. Good quality Pennslyvania cherry(the best)No affiliation but one hck of a happy customer/camper.

RE: New cherry bowl
Dave,
The hooknose did all but the last 5% or so of the cut. I used the straight 5/8" Kelton hollower on that, as it's much thinner. Sorry, forgot to mention that in the original post.

Thats a nice Piece Tony!!!!!
I could turn cherry all day long!!!!
Wifes cousin just this evening told me theres an 18 footer 10 inch diameter one at his house waiting on me.
Jim, Dick If you want some let me know. Pay the freight and it's yours. I doubt I would miss a few chunks. I also have some spalted cherry.

Extemely nice I particularly like the undercut rim that makes the piece look delicate and less chunky.
Nice piece indeed

RE: New cherry bowl
Oh, YEAH! Nice!
Somehow every time any serious undercutting gets done on my lathe, there's this funny "pow" sound and the undercut part doesn't look right any more...

RE: New cherry bowl
Hey Quart......thanks for the offer but the shipping on green Cherry(wet/heavy)I believe would make it cost prohibitive.
