RE: Wood Lathe
I've been lucky, Sonny, has not picked on me at all here. Maybe he's not a turner and doesn't spend much time in here.

Be careful with the HF 34706
Copied from my review on the HF website
over $60 to replace cheep pulleys
By Hodad from Wilmington, NC on 12/9/2011
Pros: Easy To UseCons: Poor DesignBest Uses: Home UseDescribe Yourself: Avid Do-It-YourselferBottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Used mostly for turning pens and very light duty applications such as spindles on chairs.
The cheap pulleys on this lathe costs over $60 to replace as we are now learning. They are made of very thin pot metal and prone to warping and breaking. Ours flew into several pieces and we've ordered replacements. Never have I come across parts of this low quality on a supposedly heavy duty piece of shop equipment.
