First Shot
at making 308 Cartridge pen. Used a nib from Gold slimline pen kit, Gold RT Euro finial and clip. Whitetail deer antler for top barrel.
For my next one I am going to use a 308 metal steel jacket bullet for the nib.

RE: First Shot
Before you try the 308 FMJ, be sure to measure the total length. I tried a 308 with a 30 cal copper jacket. Turned out it was too short to keep the transmission in place.

Really nice one Les. Didn't get into the brass and horn pen yet. But man they do look classy.
Days without wood working aren't worth getting up for.

Wow, that is really a nice pen Les. I am jealous of you and Carl having made those cartridge pens. Very nice picture too!

Hi Monty,
To solve the problem with the 308 with the 30 cal bullet being too short, I very carefully solder in the transmisson once I have it pressed in to where it needs to be for the refill.
I know some guys who have shortened the refill in order to get the tranmisson pressed in like it normally should be. Problem with that is that now you have refills that are not spec.
