Thanks Cody. I used Hickory. I really was not sure what wood would work best for a cooking utensil. I know Hickory is pretty tough stuff so I decided to try it on this thing.

Good idea Marc! I don't know if she would use it that way, but it can't hurt to try.

MAke sure you use food safe/waterproof glue with the wedge (like TB3 or the various others).

I was going to use epoxy like Marc suggested and that is why I am not sure if LOML would be willing to use it for cooking...but, she also uses it to get my attention sometimes and it should still be useful for that ;)

HaHaHa! Good one Carl. Yep, it was prolly my hard head that caused the old one to get that crack in it :) I guess it really is appropriate that I made a new one for her since it was my fault that the old one cracked :) LMAO!

perhaps for your own safety you shoulda made it from a softer wood especially if she has to "get your attention" often

RE: It is a Spirtle...
It's too late! She's already armed with the Hickory one. Luckily I am very hard headed so I'm sure she will be needing a new one soon. I'll make sure that one is softer...I'm thinking maybe Balsa wood for the next one ;)
