I was turning an acrylic pen and had to sharpen up the skew a bit. I used a 600 grit diamnd steel to put a knife edge on it. It did a great job on the pen and cut a really deep gash in my finger when I brushed up against the blade. Bled all over the place and took three bandages to get it to stop. I need to put a disclamer on my skews that read "Blade is sharper then it appears"
Ouch! I've been worried that I would do that someday, but I don't think I'm getting my skew quite that sharp. Just how did you use the diamond steel on your skew? Do you do it freehand?
Hey! Wait a minute! No pics...didn't happen! We need pics - of the pen and the gashed finger as well if you want us to believe a word of what you said :)
