Nice shape to that HF, Al and I like the collar. It goes well with that spalted Maple.
What kind of finish is on it, if any, or did you just sand and buff? It looks great.

Thanks, as for the finish it's Tung Oil. I'd never used it until a month ago and I can't believe how nice a finish it leaves.

Spalted Maple with a Walnut Hat
I started this at LOML's request as a surprise gift for her Aunt. It was going to be a nice spalted maple bowl, but at some point I decided to hollow it out and that led to gluing on piece of walnut.
In the end LOML won't let it go so it will not be a surprise for her Aunt after all...LOL!
Now I have to make something else for her Aunt, I just got some cigar wood so maybe...
