Source for Molding
I am contemplating replacing the base moulding around my living room. It is going to all be paint grade and I am ok with using mdf or regular wood. The probloem is I am looking for 1/2" as opposed to 3/4" or 5/8" which seems to be the standard. Has anyone ever ordered molding through the internet? Is shipping outlandish" Does anyone have any good sources? Thanks!

Don't know what part of the universe you are located. Have never
ordered moulding from internet. I like to see what I'm getting.
Why do you want 1/2"? I've scored at local lumber yards that cater
to contractors as well as the avg joe.

RE: Source for Molding
The only reason I want 1/2" is that all of the casings are 1/2" It oule be a very big job (and I have limited time) to do both base and casings.

I've had that problem too. On occasion with commercial work where there
are metal caseings, some of which were 1/2", my only choice was to
either radius the verticle edge next to the caseing or put a verticle bevel on the base, to ease the appearance. Whaddya think?

RE: Source for Molding
That is a possibility, I did not think of that option.
