Finished up 6 more of these

This is the prototype I gave to our Preacher for Christmas. Was gonna do the boxes with the Olivewood from Bethlehem like the pens, but the Cross disappeared in the prototype of that, so went with the pecan like this one.

Also did away with the hidden Rare Earth Magnet "latch" so the new ones don't have that plug.

Very nice work Jerry. Anyone who gets one will be very proud. BTW my wife will be taking her state boards exam in Austin on June 12, so I'll be down there. Maybe I can look you up.

    Izzy,
The lid of the box is an inlay done on the scrollsaw. I resaw the lid part, use some double stick tape to attach the other wood which has the pattern glued to it and drill a very small hole to feed the scrollsaw blade through. I then feed the blade through and make the cut with the table tilted a few degrees so that when the cut is finished the inlayed piece drops into the field piece with the cut angle filling the kerf of the blade. This one requires two such inlays, one for each of the inlayed woods. I then glue the resawn piece onto the back, covering up the underside.

Sent you a PM on the price.

Great job, Jerry. Those should make wonderful gifts. I can'd decide which I like the most, the pen or the box. I think the box, though. :)
