    new projects

    OK heres my new projects

I made a box from lacewood & sepele for my partners 40th, I also got him a bottle of 40 year old whisky to go in it!

I made these bird boxes just to use up most of my off cuts. I saw them in a book and thought they looked great so decided to make some myself.

WOW - that bottle is simply AWESOME. Looks just like a glass bottle.

The other wood stuff is alright - but - that bottle is REALLY cool

The tall bird is sycamore and sepele, the little bird is sycamore and zebrano. I used the bandsaw for most of it and the belt sander, dead easy to make and I think they look great. I finished them with two coats of sanding sealer and wax, I'm not very adventurous with my finishes, like to stick with what I know! I have a little book called 400 boxes and its full of fab ideas. A fun way to use up those little off-cuts!

Very nice, Liz. I love the reveal on the top and bottom of the whiskey box and the woods compliment each other perfectly.

Those bird boxes are some cute. What a great way to use usp scraps.

Personally I like a "just waxed" finish. On those items that is perfectly acceptable. On a table top I would want something of ,ore procection.

Those are great works of art.
