    I took the plunge

I have been looking at new cabinet saws for sometime intending to upgrade from my little Sears direct drive POS and had decided to make the jump next year. That was until today, to day the LOML and I went to a tool fair at the Tool Depot about 60 miles from here and I started talking to the Delta rep. It seems they had a special on the display Unisaws because they had been there for some time and they needed to be sold before the store would order in the lattest models. So after some haggeling I helped solve their problem by purchasing a 10" 3HP Unisaw with the 52" Beisemeyer fence and table and dust collection hook up for $1180.00 . The Delta rep told me before I decided to deal on it that the new model had a slightly larger cast table extension , plastic motor cover and dust collection adapter all for the list price of $1650 not including the wood table for the 52" fence ,so that was what got me going.
I will be picking it up the day after thanksgiving. It gives them time to break it down and me time to install the 220 outlet I need plus I will have help to unload and set it up. I can hardly wait. This is a major purchase for my woodworking and couldn't believe it when I looked at my wife and she just smiled and said do it.I still don't know how I got so lucky but thank God everyday that I did.
Will let you know when it is up and running.

    OHMAGOD, OHMAGOD.....

    YAEH! YEAH! And YAHA!

I damn near missed this, Ya rascal!

OUTSTANDING! I do hope you enjoy your new saw as much as I do mine.
And don't forget just how much she loves you my friend.
Try and make your very first project for her. What it is....how big or how small doesn't matter....that it is the first off, BINGO!
    (IMHO, of course.)

Congrates Duane! Glad for you my friend!

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

If you're anything like I was when I got the new saw, you'll go down to the shop and 'turn it on' just 'cause it sounds so sweet.

    Many heartfelt congrats Duane.

    Cheers, Jules

    RE: I took the plunge

Thanks for all the nice comments,I really appreciate them.
I just finished installing the 240v receptcles in the shop, figured while I was at it might as well change the radial arm over to 240 also. Now all I can do is sit and wait and I think that might be the hardest part of all. :):)
Will let you know when the big day comes,it's almost like being a proud father again but without the mess.:P:P

    Duane,

You are gonna LOVE your new saw!! I know you are way more skilled than I am but it will really make a difference, it did to me. My saw has really changed my outlook on what I am capable of. Congrats again.
