    A Woodworker in need.........

A name that might be familiar to many of you is in need of help. Michael Dresdner; the author of The New Wood Finishing Book and many articles on finishing, has given many of us help over the years in the books and articles he has authored in addition to tips on other forums.

Michael and Jane's 16-year-old daughter, Kaitlin, has Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a type of cancer of the lymphatic system. Kaitlin's prognosis is good with the continued chemotherapy treatments. However, because Michael is self employed, he does not have the insurance to cover the extremely high cost of these medical bills.

Woodworkers' Journal has set up a donation account in Kaitlin's name at a bank in the Dresdners' hometown of Puyallup, Washington. Please help by sending a check or money order to:

    The Kaitlin Dresdner Fund
    Key Bank: 152nd & Meridian
    15117 Meridian East
    Puyallup, WA 98375

    RE: A Woodworker in need.........

I saw this on another forum, and I've sent a donation. My 7-year old daughter just finished 25 months of Chemo last August for non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Luckily for us, she is fine, and is now a cancer survivor. Luckily also, my insurance did cover the costs. My daughters treatment ran close to $250,000. And that was for a no-complications treatment protocol. I know how hard it hit my wife and I when our daughter was diagnosed, and I can't imagine adding the burden of worrying about treatment costs on top of it.

I just thought I'd bounce this back to the top of the forum and add that woodworkers could also support Michael, Kaitlin and Family by supporting Michael's business. He's got a great book and some good videos available on his web site at: http://www.michaeldresdner.com/

Larry Williams, who was very impressed with Kaitlin the few times she filled in for Michael during WoodCentral chats
