Lumber truck crashes!!
http://www.9news.com/storyfull-newsroom.asp?id=1766
I think this news report sucks. What kind of lumber? What is happening to it. Even if it is 2X4's I'd pick some up. I might drive by there tommorow and pick up some lumber they left behind.
Its horrible to see good wood go to waste.

Well, take a look Nick. But don't get your hopes too high.
1 x 6, Golden, CO., bet you it was pallet material for Coor's.
But.... nothing ventured, ....nothing gained.
I've been over that road once in my lifetime.

RE: Lumber truck crashes!!
Probbaly construction grade douglas fir, for a nice new home in Golden.
But seeing as how that's a 5 minute trip. I'll give it a shot. I just need one board, and home depot want nearly 3 bucks for a 2X4. With 3 bucks I can get two double cheeseburgers fries and a coke at McDonalds. :)

I forgot to add pops drive by there yesterday and said he didn't see anything. I guess they cleaned it up, and now I'm going to be out 3 bucks.

Crews will spend the rest of the afternoon picking up thousands of one-by-six-inch wooden pieces strewn down the embankment and into a neighbor's yard. No one in the house was hurt.
Hey crew, :P

RE: small world
My Grandfather owned the only store between Denver and Golden. It was at Colfax and Carr. He and his brothers bought it in 1901 after leaving their silver mine in Brownville--now gone but was right beside Silver Plume. They had a pretty good silver mine but it was after the silver panic and all their money from the mine went to buy the farm and store in Lakewood. When they moved to Lakewood, all the family in Brownville, Silver Plume and Georgetown wanted to know why they were moving way out in the middle of no-where.

RE: Lumber truck crashes!!
Nick,
Do you live in West Meadows? My back fence goes along Bowles, across from the big white church
