The Bash Wes Thread
BASH WES, HELL YES!
Go ahead. All together now. Let me enumerate the things for you so you can call them into question.
College degree (that one usually gets a few good "papered" responses.)
Unemployed (doesn't matter that it's by choice.)
Wife supports me. (see above)
Baby not cared for. (how could I possibly do that and type on computer?)
Christian (according to Chris I have a "corrupt soul." I guess I should seek his guidance.)
Christian (got to be a neo-nazi but go ahead, I'll take the stars.)
Republican (see above)
Conservative (see above then try to find my house and set it on fire since I've got to be part of the "right wing conspiracy.")
No shop (got a 1250 sf shop, but it's upstairs.)
Penis size (talk to Sonny about that one)
Mothers virtue (been called a bass turd a couple of times.)
IQ (been called a "dumbass")
IQ again (been called a "smartass")
IQ yet again (been called a "moron")
IQ once more (been called an "idiot")
Racist (I wrote "chinamen" somewhere. I really had no idea it was considered offensive but, ignorance is no excuse.)
Not a word maven (misspelled "gaffe." I left off the "e.")
BLANK (FILL IN THE BLANK)
Where I went to college (yea, yea. the paper thingy.) those words above were not considered part of the debate lexicon. Wrong school I guess.
If you can think of something crude to call my wife, my mother, or my children this is the place to put it. If you have something to add about me personally, please do so. Remember not to let any facts get in your way.
GLOM ON EVERYONE!!! It's fun. It's much more satisfying than kicking your dog or beating your wife.
Oh yeah, oak staircase. Just throwing in some wood to keep the post on topic.
Have fun,
Wes

RE: The Bash Wes Thread
Wes,
Please stop and let it go. I come here to share info and ideas largely related to woodworking, or so I expect. This is regardless of the thread's origin such as "just talking'.Given the last barrage
of language use I'll no longer suggest this site to the young WW'ers I sometimes teach. In fact I warn their parents and steer them where
I know they won't be subjected to this trash. These exchanges have added some color but have lowered this forum's standard of excellence ten-fold.
Wes, I've been guilty of getting sucked into the sewer's vortex occassionaly as well. But water does in fact seek it's own level so again please stop, let it go and regain the level I believe you expect of yourself. I know that level is above the sewer line.
Oh, one minor thing. My spelling is terrible, the grammer often ascew.
Don't mind being corrected, but it's not why I come here.
Thanx
Glen

RE: The Bash Wes Thread
Isn't one bash thread enough for you? In case you haven't noticed, this is a woodworking forum. I haven't participated in your childish battle of insults nor even bothered to read any more than it took to see you for what you are. I think it is time Lee put a stop to this waste of a good forum and let us get on with what we come here for. Jim

Well, knowing you are a dyed in the wool conservative, I just assumed that was the word Dan Qualye stole the infamous 'E' from . . . so I let it slide . . .

Be careful throwing in some wood near the flames in this section . . . it might all get started up again!!

Paraphrased by many (myself included) . . . best when attributed to the author. I still like my grandfathers advice . . . it can apply tojust about anything (and it just wouldn't sound right if I made it PC) . . . "It's not the arrows, it's the native american.'' . . . NAH!!

RE: The Bash Wes Thread
Wes, I for one understand your points. It's funny how whenever there is a flame-war on this forum, I know for sure that one particular member will be involved. He gets away with calling people names, using bad language and just being a PITA. Yet, that person never gets "scolded" as you (and others) have been. Oh yeah, his excuse is that he's "only being honest" and since we're "just talkin'" it's OK. How he hasn't been banned from the site at this point is beyond me (even though I'm papered too).
I first visited this forum 2 years ago and commented to a simple post about dust collection. This same member got a hair up his dook and tried his usual crap with me. I just left and used the many other useful woodworking sites on the web.
I've been back recently because there are in fact many helpful folks here like Limey and Marilyn, just to name a few. But some things never change.
Maybe if I start writing some bad poetry I'll get the benefit of the doubt the next time I call someone a phucking idiot.
Peace, Wes.

RE: The Bash Wes Thread
Dave--
I coudn't agree more, in a recent post, a member who didn't have anything useful to add decided that two (1,000+ posting) members advice was better than the rest (including mine), and posted just to let the person know that he would trust user XXX and YYY over the others (including me) . . . just because they have been around HERE longer. Again, he had nothing to add . . . just to bash users when he hadn't a clue himself how to solve the problem, or a clue as to anyone's experience OUTSIDE the forums.
There is definitely two sides of the fence here . . . the pasture may not be as green on our side, but that is from the lack of manure shoveled on this side the fence.

RE: The Bash Wes Thread
Thanks for your thoughts.
It's amazing how we are sometimes treated because we have papers. It doesn't matter what kind of jobs we had or how many years of sacrifice it took to get them either. My college jobs were: Carpenter, electricians helper, waiter, bartender, bouncer (big guys get degrees too) and Emery Worldwide truck driver. All blue collar.
Could you please give me a list of good sites to visit. I am tired of running into a couple of guys here. I wonder how they ever have time to actually work with wood since they have thousands of posts (some helpful, most patronizing) on each of the sites I have visited.
Thanks again for your kind remarks,
Wes

RE: The Bash Wes Thread
Wes, I'm not sure how all this started - seems I missed the seed of your discontent. But - since we're here - can I take a whack?
Hmmm. Nope, looks like you've about covered all the bases. Can't think of anything to add. :)
That behind us, are you sure that (1) you wanted to post this thread - it just doesn't seem... well logical, and (2) that you want to leave & go elsewhere? We all know that there are loose cannons on every deck, and this is the best collection of fora I've run across. At one time I was a card-carrying member of 15 different woodworking fora, and now I'm only here.
I'd like to ask that - first, you chill a little, sit back, be rational & objective rather than reactive, and second that everybody else do the same. I've been really getting weary of this forum becoming a huge pissing match about this & that & the udder thing. True, it IS "Just Talking" - but have we nothing better to talk about than how little tolerance we have for one another? Ain't there no good news? Anybody got a giggle? Is it just too hot for even tempers? Are we all tense as we wait for the occupational axe?
