Just My Thoughts....er.... Ramblings

I just thought I'd say how great it is to have a place to call home and an escape from my routine at work. I've been so busy at my full time job and a side project that I regretfully have taken on. My browser loads up this site automatically every time I boot it up. The least I do everyday is look at "Today's Tip" and occasionally print it out. So in a sense, I do check in. You know as stressed out as I've been lately in the thought of making some extra side cash it's made me realize what's truly important to me, my family and friends. Since I got married I left that wild life style and old friends behind. My wife became my best friend to replace those who were easily forgotten. I never hung with woodworkers outside of people I met in school furniture making class and my dad whom I should have hung with more.

I don't know quite the reason why I'm writing this except that it gives me a great feeling to load this site up daily and see some great friends just posting their thoughts and ideas. I look at it kinda like walking into a room that my friends hang out at and they never seem to go away and things never seem to change too much (disagreements included). Don't take this the wrong way, I love the feeling here, it's what I need in my life, a sense of community with some great people who I feel for the most part give a $hit.

I've decided to drop the side project and spend more time with these things and people that make me feel good. Lord knows I need it. I'm tired of regretting things that I cannot change from my past and looking forward to great things that I've always wanted to accomplish. I also look forward to slowing down and getting out of the rat race.

When I was young I recall lying in the grass, looking up at the sky, and imagining what a cloud was shaped like. A dog? A cat? A man's face? A sheep? There were lot's of sheep. I think it's been over 30 years that I've done this and used my imagination. Now I can do it with my son at my side. I'm glad that it's not too late to do this.

Thanks for being good friends and thanks LEE for providing a setting that's brought me to my senses.

Tony,
I think many, many of us share your same feelings. Very well put.
My only variances on your views is I feel like this is one of those old tyme porches on a hardware store in some rural setting. And we stop by to jaw a bit, see what's new, and guffaw each other.
And what it kindels is some of the deepest friendships of folks who hope to someday meet.
Keep sharing and adding to it always and whenever you feel like, because that's what makes this such a warm and friendly place to come to.
