RE: Draggin butt!!
Ya know.... from my end it seems like it isn't a forum problem so much, as that maybe a router somewhere has farted.
I'm not technologically advanced enough to track it. But it seems like my computer sends out a request, and it must go through Iraq to get to Wisconson.
Once the page finally begins to load, it seems to jump right in. But it takes a while for the "gimme" to get through the muck somewhere.
So I'm guessing it's Net constapation. :P
Maybe a cow stepped on a phone cable up in Lee's neck of the woods.
Go back to sleep Limey. ;)

RE: Draggin butt!!
Probably a constipated router. A little mineral oil
should help.
I got error messages earlier today when I tried to read
a post.
The router has gone the route of no routing.

RE: Draggin butt!!
Bad ugly slow at this end, but then it is almost every night lately till I get it "warmed up" a little. Not usually this bad, though. We'll see if it livens up after a little bit - if not, I'm gonna have to go do other things... like sleep. Limey, you seen my pillow? :) :) :)
Heave ... I've been ready to do all day, but I don't know if I wanna heave around anybody in particular, handsome lads or not. This morning I had the unusual experience of watching at least a dozen (maybe two dozen) live chickens getting ground into mince by a "mobile" chicken coop towed by a bulldozer. You can't even imagine what it felt like to watch that happening. Of those who survived, I figure about 50% mortality rate over the next few days. We had to hasten the end for quite a few who walked the borderline.
Nothing I can say can convey the shock, the horror, the revulsion of that experience. When I got home, I just wanted to curl up in bed for a while. I keep getting these flash hallucinations of the smell of chicken guts.
In self-defense while it was happening, I managed to make desperation jokes like "Well, there's no better time to make a ... LAYER CAKE!"
Hey, I HAD to. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to handle it... :( :( :(

RE: Draggin butt!!
There is some unusual internet activity going on. Denial of Service type attacks are occuring. Some of the major internet web sites and internet carriers are putting filters in place to try and shut down the attacks. The net result if PCs are having difficulties finding web sites. (DNS name resolution issues for the techies.) Since this type of activity fits the correct profile, the Home Land Security will probably be involved.
I have been keeping my eyes and ears open to find out the extend of the problems. So far it's not getting a lot of press. There is a story on MSNBC regarding an attack against MICROSOFT.COM. I have a friend that works for a major internet carrier. He says there is a heightened sensitivity to potential attacks right now. Some of the internet carriers are putting filters in place to limit the effects of DOS attacks, the filters are causing internet site resolution issues.
