RE: Useless Trivia
GOLF does NOT stand for "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden." It comes from the Old Scots word "kolve," meaning "club." (As in, thing you hit something with.)
Speaking of Golf, Ben Hogan was actually left-handed, but played right. Bobby Jones was the first and only player to win the Masters as an amateur. Tiger Woods is oriental. His mother is from Thailand.
Although the items mentioned were invented by women, Kevlar was not. I think Dr. Harold Smith is the actual inventor of Kevlar.
Now, the song "Happy Birthday To You" is copyrighted by a woman. That is why each time you go into a restaurant and someone just HAS to have a free cupcake or whatnot, the waiting staff sings something really stupid and really annoying instead of "Happy Birthday To You."

RE: Useless Trivia
I don't know about the truth to the trivia I posted, but I do know about this:
"Bobby Jones was the first and only player to win the Masters as an amateur."
Bobby Jones retired from competetive golf in 1930 at age 28. The first Masters was held in 1934 and was won by Horton Smith. Jones himself never played in the tournament he made into a Major event.
It is true that the Masters Golf Tournament has always taken special interest in amateurs, since Jones was a lifelong amateur golfer. Considered one of the finest golfers of all time and the only man to win all four majors in the same year, he never turned pro, but instead pursued a legal career.
