    J-Marc,

Not sure I can be of much help especially since you have already sanded the wood. There is a product I rmember seeing on This Old House. A pastse consistency that is spread over the wood, let dry and lift out whole. It worked slick on the project they were suing it on.

Someone around here will have teh name of this product or something that they have used. You may just have to scrape it out--not a particularly glamours part of woodworking!

Hang tight, someone else will chime in!

    Blessings,

Yes, you can take more stripper, leave it on a bit, and a bristle brush and work the brush with the grain.
I have used a soft BRASS scrub brush, the kind with a wood handle, fairly decent sized, go easy.

White's Finish remover also helped but evaporates really fast, keep working the brush in a light scrubbing motion with the grain as the stripper starts to evaporate.
The gunk in the pores will start to sort of ball up like sand as it comes out and starts to dry.

An alternate to the brass if not avail, is a very stiff natural bristle scrub brush, plastic brushes will disolve.

You may also want to try using acetone with oo or ooo steel wool

I wouldn't recommend using steel wool with oak - the combination tend to turn the wood black.
