    More questions on the stand

    I'm still working every now and again on my fish tank stand... boy it ain't gonna look pretty. *grinz*.. I splined the doors as suggested and that turned out so so.. (due to me :) ) I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to attach the top. Suggestions? What the top will sit on is a 2x4 base. If you need more details just let me know.

    I built a stand for a 55 gallon tank once and just used 2X4s with a rabbet routed out of them. The tank sat inside the rabbet, and also served as the top to the stand. I simply covered the exposed 2X4s with matching hardwood as the sides and doors. It was very simple and quite easy to build.

    That would be great except I already started building it and I think I gave 2 or 3 inches extra on each side of the tank dimensions. :)
