Craftsman heading in a positive direction?

Just got a flyer from Sears today and it looks like they're having Bosch label their 1617 for them, complete with the wooden handles!

    Man, that's one long URL!

If they are then that's good news. Even though I don't like their power tools of late, I still have a soft spot in my heart for Sears. To me Sears is a part of Americana that should not be lost. If their stuff is up to snuff, I sure will give them a try.

Yeah, the word I've heard is that Sears has gone Bosch. On our trip to Iowa last month, I was greatly impressed by their new 6" jointer, and the hold-down miter gauge on their new table saw. I was so enthralled with the miter gauge that I forgot to check out the saw itself.

Been looking hard at the Bosh refurb. If I could catch a Craftsman club sale this would be even batter.

As of the last two years I have become very very bitter towards Sears.

On several occasions I have needed to go back to the store on Warrenty issues. Bad experiences is all I got. Years ago Sears "used to" honor their warrenties with a smile. With that service of years ago I became a loyal customer. Even told others about why they should shop at sears.

I had a bad battery to get warrenty coverage on. - BAD experience
    I had a tire --- same story
My daughter had a tire -- Same story
    Another battery -- Same story

I had 4 cars registered at one time. Mw, Wife, Son, Daughter.

I talked to the service manager - I ended up yelling at him in the store and I walked out to a car with a dead sears batery.

I emailed customer support SEVERAL times - NO replys at all.

I "used to" buy a TON of stuff at sears - NO LONGER - do I grace the door - NO LONGER do I recommend Sears to anyone.

Nope - Sears is NO LONGER the retail Icon that they "used to be". Nothing but another Giant rip off just like the rest of the group of giant rip-offs.

Sears of years ago has been dead and gone for a long time now. "Used to" be's just arn't anymore. :(
