I have decided on the chainsaw,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The "Husqvarna 455 Rancher", with a 20" bar, this model replaces the "Rancher 55". I have found it for $320 with 2 extra chains(total of 3). I am waiting for a quote from The Tool Nut,then order time.
Tool Nut only handles Makita saws,so the 455 is on order

Now that you have decided. How about a Stihl Woodboss?
Just to muck up your decision making process hehehe.

I think that is a very good choice. Said model replaces a proven workhorse,,,but since it is new it hasn't established a track record yet. Keep us posted Dick.

YES!
Now keep them tooths Sharp!
BTW, I always set the brake when I set mine down to reposition a piece I'm working on. Then pick-er-up, click it off, and go to town again.
Dead and downed trees used to quake at my sight.
Give them hell, Dick-do! :7

Dick,
I just noticed that you got a 20" bar. If it is not yet too late (and if possible)...you might want to get an 18" instead.
20" bar, though workable, is pushing it on that displacement. The extra 2" (for some reason) is harder on the back too ;).
BTW...here is a 2005 Stihl pricelist I escavenged somewhere :D ;)

According to the sales personnel that 455 will handle 16,18,20 equally well.................and I found one company where the 20 was the recommended bar,we shall see,Dave Z said he thought the 455 was a little slower than the 55 but the spec showa the 455 to be 500 faster
