A Typical Evening In My Backyard
This is one of MANY reason why I live in the "sticks"
Pictures taken this evening.
Sorry for the poor quality. It was raining with very low light.

Beautiful aren't they?
They'd casually stroll past the house in NY setting maggie (my mutt) going insane at 3am. Just stand there staring at her, eating the garden plants *laff*.
I think the little patch of woods they lived in caused some severe desensitisation to people and dogs.
Nice pictures.

RE: A Typical Evening In My Backyard
One of the houses we live in adjoined a large grassy field and we used to see deer like that, browsing around.
My wife used to get the children and say, "Look! There's Bambi and her Mommy! You're safe here from the Hunters!"
After a year or two of them eating our garden and shrubs and flowers, if she could've chased one down she'd have killed it with her bare hands, field dressed it with a butter knife, and eaten its still beating heart raw, while shouting, "Take that! you thieving long legged rat!
They are beautiful animals though.

That's cool!
I'd wand a small flock of sheep to keep it mowed, and are there fish in that pond? :7

"and are there fish in that pond?"
Yes Sir, big'uns too!
How big you ask?
well lemme tell ya.
Two years ago this summer (the last time I caught and ate fish from the pond) I caught 3 nice size blue cats... The fillets from the 3 fish were enough to feed 14...yes F O U R T E E N very hungry people and still enough left over for 3 or 4 more people. I feed'em high protein catfish food year around. Them kittens are getting HUGE! ...
I haven't fished it much the past two years in hopes they will spawn and multiple. They did just that the first 3-4 years, but haven't since.
I dunno what happen. Maybe they all turned gay on me...I dunno. This summer I'm gonna thin'em out and restock with more Channels and Blues.

Vermin.
Vile, wretched vermin.
We have a herd of about 10 deer in the woods behind my house. I can't begin to count the value of the landscaping they have eaten over the years. The awful miscreants happily eat even plants that are supposedly "deer proof".
Awful things. I wish to god they would allow us to kill them.

We don't have that problem very often; the cougars keep the deer pretty skittish. Of course there are no small or medium sized dogs running loose for very long either. There's nothing like seeing a 6" paw print in your back yard to remind you to keep your head up while you're walking.
Measure once... cut twice.
