Thanks to Lopaka (Koanalu) I've got....
1 AC/DC 225 Lincoln arc welder, 4 toilets, 1 sink, 1 faucet....
Went on a shopping spree with the 20% off HD coupon from Lopaka. That saved me $400. The saving comes in handy and the fact that I've got another friend here is even more precious.
I'd like to express my most sincere thanks to Lopaka.

You got the Lincoln tombstone? The hard-rock one? Cool - mine only does AC. I can't decide whether to build a rectifier into it or just get a new one & sell this one. I'm DESPERATE tempted to pick up one of their wire welders.
EDIT: ...and isn't this place GREAT? :)

Tim,
I'm not a very good welder but with one of those Lincoln wire feed models, my welding is good enough for government work.
Every now an then, HF will have a Lincoln on sale. Then go to HD and get an additional 10% of the difference.

That is one of the best things about woodworking I have found. The good people you meet. Some you never see and some you get the chance to face to face. I have given people tools and wood and have had people do things like resaw for me, make pens for me and even help me work on a long house project at the school my wife works for. I will raise my cup of coffee in a toast to all the people here who are or will become friends. cheers

Yeah I've got the tombstone. HD sells it for only $387, which is lower than all the other places. With Lopaka's coupon it was only $327 plus tax.
I'm new at welding and my welders at the plant recommend highly that I get the AC/DC. I'm starting with stick weld for tractor & farm equip repair. Later I'll get into heliarc stuff.

Hey, when all the toilets are in one bathroom, you only need one sink and one faucet.
However, since you are purging for tommorrows colonoskapy, I am sure the family members to either side of you wish they were in a sepparate bathroom about now. :o
LOL!
I did a lot of rod running with my Lincoln stick welder in my younger days. Four wheelers tend to do that.
Now that most of my welding consists of shop jigs, or small repairs, I have a wire feed/argon MIG set up. Love that little zapper!
A Friend loaned me his wire feed for a custom bike I built for the second ex-wife. Swore I was gonna get one like it someday... and did!
Try runnin some 7018 with it, CjR. My favoright rod with my Lincoln! I had a Craftsman AC/DC buzz-box for a long while, too. That was a good machine, too.
Oh, and do put up some partions in your new 4-holer bathroom. ;)
:D

I'm glad to see you put that coupon to good use. I was more than happy to help out a fellow brother woodworker.

I'm going to try that phrase from memory... Melama kekahi no kekahi. Did I get it pretty close to right? Yeah... I want to learn that one, make it part of my natural vocab. Thanks!
EDIT: Malama. MALAMA. Malama kekahi no kekahi. The first time I probably said "smite one another with pineapples", didn't I? :) :) :)
Malama kekahi no kekahi. I like that. I WILL learn that.
