I thought our car dealer was a crook.
Amazing story. My favorite was the guy that buys a truck from this dealer and then finds it gone from his driveway days later. The dealer called and said they had given him too good of a deal and he had to pay $10K to get it back.

RE: I thought our car dealer was a crook.
When I moved to Columbus GA, and was job hunting, I was trying to decide between U Haul and Lowes and Bill Heard Chevrolet...
Went into the dealership, had the interview, and the guy was actually trying to close me like I was buying a car! .... I said "uhhh.. I thought I explained to you, and outlined on my resume that I have a couple of years as a closer at a major dealership" and he said "well I just want you to sh*t or get off the pot"
?????
I said "I have only been here for about 15 minutes, and you want to hire me right now??... and you expect me to make that decision right this minute???"
"yep... we don't have time to pussyfoot around here"
I got up and informed him that trying to close a closer was a bad idea... I would let him know what my decision was when *I* was ready... have a nice day...
"sure, sure... think it over, let me know"
I decided to wander around the dealership... talk to the other salesman... what a nightmare place... stories about fist fights over sales, nobody knew each other... I asked one guy who had been there a year (probably a record) what some of the other peoples names were and he had no idea.. and obviously didn't care...
Bill Heard.... one of the remaining hold outs of a dying era...

I loved the comment in the article...
"Our absolute commitment is to treat people right. The past problems portrayed by Channel 5 are exactly the kinds of issues we have been working very hard on for more than a year to correct."
A YEAR!??? Something like that should take about 15 minutes to fix! "...and don't let the door hit you in the butt as you leave."
