Cameras and Best Buy.
I have been looking at a digital SLR and was about ready to buy one off of the interweb, when I happened to open up Best Buy's ad. I do not like that store, and try not to buy stuff there, but the camera I was looking for was on sale big time. That made it close to what I would have paid for it on the net, so I went for it.
I got there and the camera was indeed on sale, but for $30 more then the ad said on their site. So I called my friend and asked him to look it up and indeed it was wrong. So I asked the kid about it and he said they would "match" that price. They would match their own price?
I just thought that was kind of hokey and it reminded me why I don't go there often. A few months ago they admitted that they had a second web site with bogus prices on it so when people like me came in and asked about it they could bring up a bogus site that looked the same but with the prices different then they had seen at home. So all that aside...
Got the new camera and it is really pretty darn nice. Before this, I had one of the first digitals with 1.2 MP, 8M and a fixed lense, so this is a huge upgrade. It is a Canon XT with a 75-300 mm and a 18-55 mm lense. It has been about 10 years since I used an SLR and I have to remember how to set everything. But I noticed yesterday that it is a lot easier to learn on one of these when you can see instantly what each change does. Not like the old days when you had to wait and try to remember what you had done. I shot about 250 pictures yesterday just playing with settings.
So it should be fun. The only problem is that they only one in my family that will let me take their picture is the dog.

How do you get a camera to take a picture of itself????
Use a mirror, maybe???

If a tree falls in the forest and no one's around to hear it, who cuts it up for lumber?
