    What Global Warming???

East Texas must not have gotten that memo because it's snowing quite heavily right now. I've seen it snow here in March a time or two but never in April. Sure hope it doesn't get too heavy cause I don't own a snowblower. :P

I spent most all day yesterday working in the yard again. I plantd six flats of Asian Jasmine, put out 200 lbs of high N2 fertilizer, did a bit of trimming on my roses (which are already blooming), and cut down five dead Dogwood trees that succumbed to last year's drought.

The yard is green, my lawn grass (St. Augustine) is starting to grow and we've had temps in the seventies and eighties for a while now.My kids have even been begging to go swimming.

Oh well, it will soon enough be sweltering here again.

Oh man, I do miss the fragrance of Jasmine blossoms in the evening, sometimes I almost envy you flatlanders in the spring.

Snow in TEXAS - in APRIL??

    Wow is that weird.

We have gotten snow here in New England in April

In southeast Mass about the first week of April is the end of the snow season. Even at that snow in the first week is very strange indeed.

We don't have any snow but it is downright cold.

The 10 day forcast shows 10-15 below normal every day.

    Weird

    Cody,

Welcome to the club! ;) Got an inch of snow here in DC last night... had the move the half built lathe stand back under cover. Geez... ;) Something's wrong with this picture...

BTW, I've been remiss in replying to you. Sending what you asked for by PM... ;)

    Thanks,

    Bill

Was a good bit of sleet here earlier...Hell, we hardly get that in the Winter, but the first of April????

Like Cody, I spent the whole day yesterday mowing and trimming the yard...I had no idea today was going to be like this!

The temp sure is nice though! I figured I'd have sweat dripping off of me today as I was replacing the heater core in the Crown Vic, but instead I have a light jacket on!

    RE: What Global Warming???

I've already mowed twice this year, well once was to mow the leaves in. Planning on some landscape stuff at the Church today. We've got to put of a sort of hedge so one of the neighbors won't be bothered by having to see us or something. I spent four hours in the rain and sleet with the LOML digging holes into the 6 inches of top soil and another 6 into caliche and limestone. Hand tools in the shop, rock. Handtools in the garden suck. Digging bar and post hole digger most of the way. I dug the holes, the LOML stuck the five gallon sage plants in and filled the holes back up. We got about half of em in before the sleet got too bad to work.

Only the two of us and the minister's husband showed up, and he was planting switch grass for a sediment filter in a runoff area on the other side of the property.

My toes are finally thawing out.

Just remember that the snow is 1/2 a degree warmer! (According to the ex-spirts)

....Now don't that make you get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that? ;)

    RE: What Global Warming???

I've been on the dull end of a chainsaw all afternoon and lit my burn pile besides. I'm plenty warm, thank you. :)

BTW, I dumped the contents of my DC barrel BEFORE I lit the fire this time. ;)

Where's the fun it that? I was trying to remember who did magician's anglefire trick with his dust barrel. Now I remember :D
