    RE: Glue for porcelain?

I've known WeldBond glue to yield a superb bond with ceramic... but not to GLAZED ceramic. The glazing's tricky... you might try a couple of yard-sale coffee mugs with thinset mortar or polyurethane cement (construction adhesive). Worst case, I'm pretty sure that one of the breeds of epoxy will work fine. Note that you can accelerate epoxy by heating... some are perfectly happy final-curing at about 250 degrees F.

While you're at it, grab up a whole boxload of yard-sale coffee mugs & do some experimenting. You'll come up with something suitable, I'm betting. :)

I've had better luck with [link:www.marinetex.com|this] than the two part epoxy.

    Glue for porcelain?

    hi all,

attached is an experimental thing i got going with mini coffee mugs i found.

does anyone know the best glue / adhesives for porcelain? i know superglue could work, but i was wondering was there something more appropriate?

how about grout inbetween the mugs...... how much strength can that give? i don't know much about it but i assume its like a cement kind of thing.

lastly, for the legs...... i could try to build the leg structure and connect all 4 legs on their own and then just place the mugs sitting on top. was wondering if any of you had any ideas for a cleaner method of making it look like the legs are just attached to the cups.

are the adhesives that bond wood and porcelain?

    thanks!
