Just when we thought spring was here and.....
I was looking at the motorcycle batteries thinking about putting them back in the bikes, daydreaming of going for a nice ride in the country,.....
Then the chit hits the fan. We are in the middle of a snowstorm with a possible 15 inches of snow falling today. We have already had about 80 inches this winter and all the snow was just about gone.
But not anymore!!!!!! It's a virtual winter wonder land outside and it's comin' done heavy.
Oh well, better than all the rain they got else where this week.

The weather has been strange this winter, hasn't it? I think this global warming thing is really going to change the way we have to live. Sorry for your ruined start to spring.

RE: Just when we thought spring was here and.....
Yesterday I was lookin' at the dirt creeping out from under the snow... allowing myself to imagine - to look forward - to anticipate...
...and today it's nothin' less than unimaginably chibbery. Because I'm an outdoors-only smoker, I'm no longer genetically accurate.
Frickin' pellet furnace decided to stop heatin' last night, so it was fifty degrees in the house this morning when I got up to make the coffee.
Wind blowin' through at 45mph... every window in the house beatin' the band. Sounded like a flock of elephants trying to break into the house all night.
PBBBBT!

First mistake was taking the batteries out Dale! Leave them in and the bike is ready to roll when you are! :+
I guess I won't tell you I already have a couple hundred miles on! :P And so far all we've got from this storm is some wet stuff that has melted as soon as it hit the road. 40 miles to the north and east on the other hand......

RE: Just when we thought spring was here and.....
Let's see, I started the day outside in a sweatshirt, installing a new fountain thingie by the front porch. Then adding some lights to the low voltage yard set, and, of course, moving several others. Weren't long, though, before I was stripping that sweatshirt off and down to a short sleeve pocket t-shirt and getting a hat to work as both a sweatband and to shade my balding pate. Bad news is that as soon as mowing the leaves in is done with, it'll be time to start mowing the grass.
About that global warming thing, rejoice, earth is about ten thousand years over due for the next ice age. :)

Yep, bring parkas and galoshes and fur lined mittens and you might be able to finance the move selling that stuff to us down here who don't own any of those sorts of things. :)

RE: Just when we thought spring was here and.....
I put the snowblower away in summer storage in the shed.
I have cleaned up the inside firewood storage area in the shop. I store about a one week constant burning supply in the shop all winter, and replentish it weekly.
Only firewood I have now is under cover outside and a 1-2 day supply in the firewood box in the house. End of April and I will clean out the inside stuff.
The shop is all nice and cleaned up and in summer mode.
I refuse to be in a winter kinda way anymore this year.
No snow in the 10 day forcast.

16"-19" fell in Racine, Wi. yesterday.
Had a party shoveling today. Us and the neighbors broke out the beer and wine, kept it cold in the snow, and proceeded to shovel and be merry.
What the hell else ya gonna do?
Dale
