One year ago last Tuesday.
I can't believe I missed it ... i knew it was getting close to that time.
One year ago Tuesday, we lost an incredible asset to this forum. Dec. 2, 2007 our fellow member Robert "Limey" Bolton passed away.
I don't know what to say, but I felt that a moment of rememberance (beyond those I have everyday) was in order.
We were lucky to have him for as long as we did. Here's to you, Limey! :)

RE: One year ago last Tuesday.
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN A YEAR!
my goodness gracious. I cannot believe it has been a year. Limey was one of the nicest, smartest, and most trustworthy people I have ever had the pleasure to be acquainted with. I met him once but he made an incredible impression on me.
Several years ago, he wanted to send something special back to England and he knew I made maple syrup. I shipped some syrup to England, at significant shipping cost (more than the syrup itself), before getting paid. It never occurred to me to get the money first - and it was during law school when I did not have any money to play with at all... He was just such a kind, trustworthy man that I never even gave it a thought.
He has been and always will be sorely missed.
CHEERS LIMEY! He is looking down now -- hoping that we will all finally get and properly use the skew!!!! :)
later, John

I was watching it... starting about Sunday, time got pretty depressing - physically, intellectually, emotionally. The world lost an artistic genius and jewel of a person that day. Me, I lost a close friend.
Last night I had a distinct sensation of Limey walking around this house while I worked, watching what I was doing.
I'm grateful for the time we spent as friends - short and few as they were.

Still hurts like it was just yesterday. Amazing to feel so much loss over one that I only met on the internet and from a single telephone conversation.

I hope I've been keeping some of his spirit alive. I actually thought of Limey when Tim & I revived a saw and gave it away. With the motor cannibalized from my HF DC we got it going. Part of my getting into turning comes from some of his inspiration as well.
Thanks for reminding me of the anniversary of his passing.

I am really suprised it has only been a year. I mean, I just missed him. I just missed out on some of his words. I started hear a short couple months past December.
I've always known of the wide reverence for your friend, Limey, but did not realize how close I actually was to being fortunate enough to meet him. (as much as you can "meet" people on forums).
Kinda bums me out I was so close....

MAN - a whole year?
Yeah Limey was a special person - his candle certainly burned out way too fast.
I had opportunity to meet hima few times and we talked on the phone many times.
Some friends are like silver - some loke gold. Limey is of a higher value than those things.

Robert "Limey" Bolton and I had many conversations off line.
When I heard that we lost that great woodworker, I actually cried. Just remembering the anniversary of our loss also brought tears to my eyes.
