I found tilex to be effective for taking care of mold. Bleach is water based, so it will allow mold to grow back. You don't want to use anything that's water based. I believe if you were to use an oil paint to repaint your walls, you would be safe. To be honest, the best thing for you to do is call in the pros if you have a substantial amount of mold.

You can go in for hydrogen peroxide. It is a better alternative compared to chlorine bleach. it doesn't leave behind toxic residue or fumes, and is environment-friendly. it is anti-viral and anti-bacterial in addition to being anti-fungal, and is easily available in the drug store. it is definitely effective in killing and keeping out the mold.

You can use these following for killing molds:
Bleach
Borax
Vinegar
Ammonia
Hydrogen peroxide
Detergent
Baking soda
Tea tree oil
Grapefruit seed extract
Take your pick. Any of these will do for now. Good luck!

How does this sound to yall? My question - we are really going to want to paint the walls - both for appearance, but mainly to help keep moisture out of the basement.
