Tapering Leg
I am going to taper some table legs on my jointer for the first time! I am doing a little practicing on some poplar so I started by wrapping painter's tape around the leg (2 times) with the lower edge of the tape being the place I started jointing. The taper is very smooth but the tape has started rolling up and sticking to the out-feed table. Anyone know the type of tape I should use?

You can also use a wooden spacer.

Worked great! I also used a stop block on outfeed table. Worked also. I don't know if I like this more than using my table saw but the wood is smoother when using the jointer and very little sanding is required. Thanks again Frank C.

Cut them on the saw and then make one pass on the jointer to clean up any kerf marks.
