I'm new to the world of woodworking and I am looking for referrals for local woodworkers in my area (Kings Park, NY - on Long Island) to have some custom woodwork done. Specifically, I am looking for a woodworker that would be able to cut and sand various size wooden dowels and coat with a non-toxic, environmentally friendly coating. Is anyone familiar with what type of coating is the most eco-friendly and does not allow for water or substances to penetrate the surface of the wood? Please post here or contact me via email.
