Replacement for Xacta fence on Jet cabinet saw
I purchased a Jet cabinet saw pretty cheaply and knew that I would have some things to repair. I have just about everything completely restored with the exception of the original fence. The saw is a 40th anniversary Jet with a 50 inch Xacta. I am trying to decide if it is worth it to replace the fence and rails with a Biesemeyer setup or if there is a good replacement for the xacta that works with the current rails since they are in very good shape (2X3 bar). The fence itself has rusted screws, the side plates are gouged all over, the metal that provides the tension is mushy and won't spring back and the screws to true the fence are toast. Also, the fence does not say Xacta II just Xacta so I am assuming it is the first version. Any ideas on if the Biesemeyer is worth the extra dollars of if there is a good replacement fence?

Best of luck dear. Do what you want and then share with us what changes you made in it.

I've had a Biese Commercial fence, and now have a Jet Exacta II. They're both excellent and are very similar...both will fit on the original Exacta rails, as will the Shop Fox Classic, HTC, and several other full size Biese clone type fences.

I ended up finding a pretty good deal on a Biesemeyer. Reading posts on this site and others pretty much pointed me to either the Unifence or the Biesemeyer so the price pretty much sealed the deal. Thanks for the advice.
