Anyone know what this v-shaped thing is?
Hi,
I am new to the forum. At an auction, I recently purchased some nice tools from the 50s (a Delta 4" Jointer and a Craftsman/Dunlap table saw) but along with the purchase came a box of 14 of these and I have no idea what they are - curiousity is getting the best of me. Just curious if any of you know what these are. Here is some more info:
- All are marked with "Made by Al Rowland Oakland Cal 1963" and a few also have the name "Calamity Jane" on them.
- You have to hold them "legs up" in order to read the inscriptions properly, so I am thinking they might be "installed" in that position.
- Though maybe not evident in the picture, there is a 1/4 inch hole all the way through the top, and 2 or 3 small screw holes in each side. Some of the items have small brass screw in these holes.
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
John
