    shaping wood

I have a rocking horse I want to build, I'll need to do alot of shaping of the legs, the peices will be about 14 inches in length of two by six stock and need to be shaped like a shoulder at the top, knees and a hoof at the bottom. What would be a good choice of hand tools to do this? Thinking maybe spokeshave?

    Thanks.

Probably, rough it out with a jig saw and have at it with the spokeshave.

You can use jigsaw with smooth wood-cutting blade, Spoke shave , hand plane ,
    upholstery stapler and miter saw

You can save time by roughing it out with a band saw cutting @ a 45. Them finish with a spoke shave. I make duck decoy bodies that way.
