I need to make a long miter saw fence (with shop pics)
Hi all!
I have recently opened a shop with a friend of mine. We are still in the process of setting everything up, and I need to make a fence for my miter saw outfeed table. Any tips on how to go about this? I think I should make it out of solid maple, but how do I attach it to the table? What do I need to do to incorporate some type of sliding stop-block and stick-on measuring tape? How did you make yours?
Here are some pics of the new shop:

Get the product manual for this: http://www.kregtool.com/Precision-Tr...-Prodview.html it has a plan for a nice set of tables to accompany your miter saw. As to a stopblock - go to Rockler, buy some T track and a knob and you're good to go - or buy the product for the link above. It is spendy, but it's very nice and very accurate.

Well, it's done now... I took some plans from an issue of Shop Notes Magazine, and changed some stuff to work for me. Thanks!
