Glue choices

I have an antique doctors horse drawn buggy. It was recently dropped and three slats cracked as a result. The cracks look similar to a finger joint with jagged ends and seem to fit back together nicely. It is mostly for show but still want it sound and as original total only as possible so I am trying to determine best glue to use. Unfortunately, I don,t know what kind of wood it is either. I was considering tire bond hide glue polyurethane or now structural epoxy. The slats do carry some weight....a rider and baggage. There are about a dozen total and three are cracked.
Sorry if I missed something I am new to this and it sure all the info y'all might need.

I'm sure all the glues you mentioned would work (as well as many others too), but I think the real factor in making the pieces bond will be how well you clamp them together (to dry). I might also be tempted to use a small, perhaps invisible, fastener to help bring them together.

Using an adhesive such as glue is the best and most desired joining device to use. There are many glues on the market for the repair, some will adhere on contact without pressure while others will require about thirty minutes of pressure. It is best to buy only the best in glue, not the off-brands and to follow the directions fully on the product label.
