Help finding 12" table saw motor

Hi fellas, first time using your site I'm trying to locate a replacement motor for my saw 12" table model 113 24181. My wife bought this new for me I believe in the 70's, its been a great saw. I think the motor has given up, I've changed the cap.s and checked it out the best I know how but it just hums. I would appreciate any help as to what to look for or possibly where I can buy a new or used motor. I looked all over the net to no avail. thanks steve

There should be an ID plate on the motor that will give you enough information to match it up from any manufacturer. The cheapest motors you will find are compressor duty motors, avoid them as they will not last long on a table saw.

Check with Northern Tool they may be able to help you.

Hi Frank I've tried everywhere on the net to fine a match using the info on the ID tag. This is a motor made by Simpson company in Canada. The frame was a one off dedicated for a direct drive Craftsman table saw. I'm trying to fine someone that has an old table saw with this motor for sale. The motor ID tag--- source 113

Now I understand your pain, there was era of Craftsman power tools that was a curse on humanity, nothing was standard, do you also have the unique sized miter slot on that saw?

Is it possible to have the motor professionally repaired, I know it will be expensive but it sounds like you don't have too many options.

Are you still looking for a motor? I have a 113 24181 table saw for sale.

I would suggest checking the unit number/ID of that product if it is still there then go from there. Contact the company if there are still motors available for that kind of unit. If not then you should probably buy a new one.
