What Should I do to my Windows?

It is really sad that I broke the lock of my window. I cannot close it now. So, it remains open. Does anyone here have any idea on how to remodel or replace a new window? My friends are suggesting to install shutters...Can't decide. Need help

Probably would be best if you would provided a detailed description of the window, or better yet, a picture of the broken window. What is broken? how old is it? That sort of thing.

Look into replacement windows. They are easy to install and you don't have to change anything on the exterior or the house.
If you make it, they will buy it so sell your wood works for free!

My window is kinda old already. It's the typical old style windows. The lock of the window was broken. I tried to close it, but it never close again. I tried to pull it downwards, still didn't work. I was planning to call a handyman professional.

Can you suggest a site or photo of what those replacement windows would look like? I got this site http://www.decorativeshutters.com/ but can't decide yet. That's what my friend's are suggesting.

This doesn't tell us much. Is it a wood window? Aluminum? Does it slide open side-to-side (slider) or up-and-down (double-hung), or does it swing open (casement or awning)? What sort of lock?

Locks are replaceable. Have you tried looking in a hardware store for a lock? No point in replacing the window if all you need is a lock. But we can't help you if we don't know what the problem is. Maybe calling a professional is your best bet.

I would suggest that you go in for replacement windows. They are gaining popularity these days, and are easy to install. It is a better option than shutters. Also, u can look in for replacing the lock as Jerry suggested.

What kind of lock was installed before anyway? I'm pretty sure you can buy a lock for the window with a lot of other options. You can also replace the whole window but that will surely cost more than just buying a new latch or something.

We installed an epoxy floor coating and it was really bad. Started out very very slick. Static electricity was a problem. Any kind of grit would score the floor so it went from to sick to dull and ugly.
