Boat Bassinet
Hi all
I am having my first child very soon, a few months ago I asked my father (who is a real Jack of all trades) to make me a boat bassinet. The following is the results.... Bare in mind that he had absolutely no plans or pictures to go off
Here is the plug, the only part that makes it into the finished product is the keel.

Here is the steamer that he through together to bend the wood.

The ribs laminated and attached.

Most of the planking complete

Here is the proud granddad

Thats it! Please feel free to comment, let me know what you think. He retires in a month and I suggested that he build the odd one of these for a bit of extra cash. I bet these would cost a small fortune in a shop being 100% hand crafted!

That is a very nice project. The blocks on the suspension are a nice touch.

They are pretty large images so they will not fit in the provided space, when I clicked on them in Safari and dragged them over a bit they were reduced so I could see the entire image.
You and your child are so fortunate to have such a talented person in your lives, that is the kind of project that becomes a true family heirloom.
My son-in-laws father built a cradle several years ago that has been handed down to each new grandchild in the family, he has attached brass name plates for each child that used it.

Very impressive. I like everything about the craftsmanship and the design.
