Delta 14 inch band saw dust collection
Hi folks:
Does anyone 1) know where I can get a discontinued Delta 50-239 dust collection port for the 14 in machines, or 2) have sheet metal plan drawings for this part? I've heard this add-on is very effective. Right now, I'm installing a 4 inch DC port in the lower door, yet would like to have both set-ups.
Thanks.

Hi Frax, Thats interesting, I didn't know that Delta had such an offering. I wonder how close the JET 14" is, which is what I have, to a Delta 14". I might have to see what I can cobble up some day. I've designed and built hoods for several different types of woodworking machines.

If that’s a discontinued model, it’s hard to find. But there should be dust collection ports from another model close to that one that would fit. Try bandsawparts.com. They have aftermarket replacement parts for Delta and other dust collection ports from other brands.

I agree with Patel. I think there is no perfect tension but there is a right tension for different materials. The amount of tension can also be affected by the type of the material. If the material is solid, then greater tension is needed for the blade to stay in track. This goes directly proportional to material dimensions and hardness. Those are my observations so far in my experience as a band saw operator.
