What finish for Cedar siding and trim in a bathroom?

OK. I'm putting cedar siding and trim in a bathroom and some of it will get wet (no surprise there), in addition to general humidity you might find in a bathroom. What type of finish would you use on the cedar? An oil type finish -- danish oil, teak oil, etc. that will soak into the wood, a spar varnish type product, or a polyurethane product that will just coat the surface of the wood? Or is some combination of products appropriate? I've got different opinions on this and some shrugs on what to do in this case. What would you recommend?

melijack--- are you a real person or a computer algorithm? Your opening sentence looks like a computer using the word "complete" as a synonym for "finish" when in this context it doesn't mean the same thing.

Lotusman: For water protection, polyurethane is probably your best bet. If you want the finish to soak into the wood more deeply, you can thin the first coat or two with 50% mineral spirits ("Danish oil" is basically just thinned varnish anyway)---subsequent coats can be done with or without thinner. Thinned coats are easier to apply evenly; thicker coats build the finish faster.

I would advise coating all surfaces (front, back, edges and ends) to keep moisture migration slow and relatively even.

Good catch. I've played around with a "spinner" software program (just out of curiosity), and they do just that. Although I try to avoid jumping to conclusions about a particular post (I've been mistakenly accused of being a spammer more than once), it's sad to see the forums getting bombarded with this stuff.
