    Same size but big different in weight.

    I have 2 same size pine wood 3/4" x 5" x 3'. One is really heavy and the other one is so light. Just curious why it is so different. I do not think they will have same strength. Please advise.

    With out seeing it I would bet it has to do with the amount of sapwood. I've come across 2X4's that were so wet with sap it smelt like a pine oil cleaner was being used everytime I drove a screw or nail into it.

    ...Not to mention that there are over a hundred species of "pine"...Each having their unique properties such as desnsity. Then there would also be moisture content of the boards in question...
