RE: First Real Project Pictures (desk)
Very nice job Newboy! I really like the secret drawers...that's been one of my own favorite things to do too.
It looks like everything turned out very nicely, in spite of Pete's (ImNo_1) influence. Just kidding...looks like he steered you right.
Where did you get the drawer hardware? I don't think I've seen those before.
Nicely done.

Logan, YOU are IN! You're a born woodworker, no doubt about it.
There are times I wish I was "only" 17 years old... :)
I LIKE LIKE LIKE those hidden drawers. Good indication of inherent ingenuity. They may not be very deep, but there's still a lot of stuff you could put into 'em... the kinds of things people USE hidden drawers FOR.

Very VERY nice job Logan. I, too, am in the process of building a roll top. It looks just like yours. I have the desk completed, just need to start on the roll top portion and finish up the drawers. I love the concept of the hidden drawers. I wish I'd have thought of that myself. I love the look.

Excellent job, and the hidden drawers are very cool. In the olden days secret compartments used to be almost standard fair on office pieces.
My first impression on reading your post was that this was a high school shop project, but one second reading, it obviously is not. More power to you for the initiative to engage yourself in learning something that will, if you let it, bring you years of enjoyment down the road.

Excellent job Logan. Its good to see yer beginning, as I doubt I'll last long enuff to see the end of your work(manship). And btw, the amount of pride you feel at the end of a project wont deminish over the years, so theres a long, happy life of WWing ahead of you. Keep it up. Like Red says, "If the ladies dont find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy".
And lord dont apologize for being seventeen. Vaguely remember seventeen and it seems I was building boats, drivin fast, and chasin girls, and the extent of my responsibilities were insurance, gas, and tires (not necessarily in that order) ;) . Its a good time of life.
