where to find square tapered bed posts?
Hello,
I am looking for simple square tapered bed posts and I can't seem to find them. They are either pencils(too thin) or transition into round or octagonal. Looking for 80-90" range, paint grade.
Anyone know a source?
Thanks,
Matt

If you have a jointer capable of handling the length they show how to taper legs here:

Wow, thanks for that link. I believe that my the posts I need for this project are too long for my jointer bed, but I will definitely be coming back to it for other projects. Thanks for sharing!!

It works for tapers of infinite length... you first taper the smallest end, then work backwards to the thickest end.
A sixteen-foot taper isn't too much for a jointer with a 36" total bed length...

There are a few companies that advertise in Fime Woodworking sellinglegs and otherwood "parts." I'd give them atry and seeif any of them are square.
I work in the unfinished furniture business and I recallseeing some square posts in my "travels", I don't know names, there is always a chance that one of those companies would sell posts only.
