I recently purchased a used 14in. Rockwell bandsaw with castiron flywheels. It had been sitting in a shed for years and I tore it apart and got it looking like new again. I got everything realigned and adjusted and proceeded to use it and it worked great. Until today:( As soon as I started it and it got up to speed, I smelt rubber burning. I removed the gaurds and found that the rubber vibration dampener on the top flywheel had come off and was rubbing the inside gaurd. I rechecked the alignment of the flywheels and tried more and less tension on the blade and still have the same problem. Help!!!

Nate,
If your refering to the rubber tire on the top wheel, you may have to use some spray contact cement to hold it in place.
Chances are that the adhesive or tension of the rubber itself has
stretched or dried out from lack of use.
