I ordered the drawer pulls for the dresser/changing table to match the sports theme we have going on in the nursery.
They are knobs shaped like baseballs, footballs, basketballs and soccer balls.
However, for the door, I figured a knob wouldn't cut it since the door stands about 34" tall.
I bought one of those little mini baseball bats last night that I planned to use as a handle. Problem is it seems too long and just doesn't look right.
Then inspiration struck me and I couldn't resist trying it.
My idea was to use my DP as a lathe since I don't have one.
And you know what, it's actually working!!! Slow-going, but it's working, lol!

Poplar is okay if they are to be painted. If not, or stained, I would not choose poplar. It is soft, uninteresting and does not finish well (unless painted). Oak or maple are not that much more...
