I've been beating my brains out trying to find the glider hardware I want. I contacted Rockler and they recommended this forum to me. I did order 2 sets of glider bearing kits from Rockler, but it isn't what I'l looking for. I've seen what I want on the gliders that are sold by Menards. They are metal straps approx 8" long and 1 1/2" wide with offsetting angles on each end. They also have a stiffining rise running lengthwise the strap. Does anyone know where I might be able to order these? I make cedar lawn furniture and can't seem to keep ahead of my orders. I guess that's good huh? I've got 8 orders standing for gliders and can't seem to find the hardware.
I just purchased the Jet dust collecter and air filter and am glad I did. Cedar dust will kill you. They are the quietest tools in my shop.
Brad,
Here's a possible..... http://stockade-supply.com/cat-plans/accessories.html.
Stockade Wood and Craft Supply is a Canadian outfit advertising a wide range of outdoor furniture plans, and has hardware to match their plans. This particular page illustrates their glider hangers. Even if these don't work, explore the site or email them and you may get some help. Hope this helps. Wiley Horne
I checked it out and it's the same set I've been comming up with. Unfortunatly, it's not the stuff I've been looking for. Oh well, gotta keep looking. I know someone makes tham because they are used on the gliders Menards sells.
I am probably stating the obvious but have you tried looking to see if you can get the manufacturer's name off the hardware glider part that Menard's sells or perhaps you could call the company that makes those gliders and find out where they get them? I hope this helps.
The first and last one didn't open for me, but the second one is what I'm looking for. The only difference is the ones I saw had stiffeners built into the strap. I may end up resorting to making my own. Thanks again.

Wood filler is often used to repair wood that is not in the best shape. After you use a wood filler, you should use a waterproof varnish or sealer to protect the wood.
